AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hope Family Thrift Store opens to help the Austin Disaster Relief Network. A new thrift store in central Austin is aimed at helping the Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) and families affected by disaster. Volunteers will be able to help at the store and families in need will also be able to use vouchers to buy items from the store.
In lieu of the Hope Family Thrift Store’s Ribbon Cutting ceremony with the Austin Chamber of Commerce on March 12th and their Grand Opening on March 14th, the store announces that two families have already been assisted before their doors officially open.
ADRN and Hope Family Thrift Store (HFTS) invites the city of Austin to join them on Thursday, March 12th at 9:20 AM for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony presented by the Austin Chamber of Commerce. The dedication is open to the public and will include snacks, drinks and more. Spirit 105.9 and Community Impact Newspaper will be onsite to help cover the event and provide support, along with providing various give away prizes for those present at the event.
ADRN looks to the Austin Community for clothing and donated items to help launch the opening of the Hope Family Thrift Store. We are in need of donations to fill the thrift store shelves and volunteers to prepare donated items for display before our Grand Opening scheduled for Saturday, March 14th, 2015 from 10AM – 6PM.
