Hope Family Thrift Store (HFTS) supports the Austin Disaster Relief Network in providing for the needs of disaster survivors in the central Texas area. All net proceeds benefit ADRN and disaster survivors receive free clothing, shoes, and other merchandise as needed. Since HFTS is a faith-based ministry, Assistant Store Manager applicants must have a strong and mature Christian spiritual background. Great opportunity to move into Store Manager position after successfully showing skills and experience in Assistant Manager position. Responsibilities include:

  • taking spiritual leadership each day with a brief morning devotional
  • responsible for all cash management including monitoring cash register tills, petty cash and making daily deposits
  • monitor the store for customers needing assistance and promote sales
  • work with Area Director reviewing daily practices she has set forth
  • responsible for loss prevention including training, debriefing staff on incidents
  • assist in overseeing daily staff assignments to ensure all critical positions are filled each day
  • ensure all staff are complying with policies and procedures
  • open/close the store and adjacent office and warehouse, setting alarms at the end of the day
  • confer with Store Manager on daily staff issues, conflicts, or concerns
  • meet with Area Director and Executive Director on a regular basis

Starting salary range: $32,000 – $35,500
Work Days: 5 days a week, Saturdays included, Sundays off.
