Meet Karen! Karen Goddard is Hope Family’s Thrift’s Assistant Manager and Vintage Specialist. Her love for the secondary market shines through in everything she does at Hope Family Thrift. With a background in selling antiques and collectibles for over 35 years, Karen initially volunteered at the store for five years before joining the staff full-time.
“It just felt right up my alley,” Karen says of her work at Hope Family Thrift.
Karen delights in finding and pricing unique items, helping customers uncover hidden gems, and serving the community. Her experience and knowledge of vintage and collectible items play a crucial role in helping Hope Family Thrift raise funds for the Austin Disaster Relief Network.
“I enjoy the secondary market. God has allowed me many years of knowledge and experience from doing my own business of selling antiques and collectibles. I feel like God has uniquely gifted me for this job,” says Karen.
Additionally, Karen values the opportunity to share her faith with both customers and team members at Hope Family Thrift.
“When the opportunity arises, I’ve been able to pray with customers right here on the floor, and that doesn’t normally happen in other organizations. It’s just a really sweet community, a family, basically,” Karen says.
