We don’t often think of old t-shirts or secondhand coffee tables as “planet-saving” heroes—but around here, they kind of are.
Every week, your donations—clothes, furniture, kitchenware, all of it—help keep nearly 10 tons of usable items out of the landfill. That’s not a typo. Ten tons. Instead of trashing those things, you give them new life—and in doing so, you help someone in our community furnish their home, find affordable clothing, or stretch their budget a little further.
That’s the heartbeat of Hope Family Thrift.
We’re more than a store. We’re a ministry grounded in faith, one that believes caring for people and the planet are deeply connected. When we practice reuse and generosity, we’re living out values of stewardship and compassion. On World Environment Day, we’re reminded that small, everyday choices—like where we shop or what we donate—add up to something much bigger.
So if you’ve got items in good condition that no longer serve you, bring them by. If you’re looking for something practical or unique, stop in and see what’s on the shelves. Every item has a story—and with your help, that story doesn’t end in a dumpster.
It continues—right here in North Austin—helping families, protecting creation, and building something hopeful.
